Classic Sourdough Sandwich Loaf
The everyday loaf, scored with a stalk and big enough for a week of toast. Organic wheat and bread flour, sea salt, a little olive oil, and the starter.
Mini Sandwich Loaf, Classic
Exactly half the big loaf. The same dough and the same stalk, sized for a small household or a first try.
Kalamata Olive Mini Loaf
Whole Kalamata olives folded through the classic dough, so every slice has a few. Good with butter, better toasted.
Garlic, Jalapeño & Green Olive Mini Loaf
Chalkidiki olives stuffed with garlic and jalapeño, folded into the dough. Briny first, then a slow, bright heat.
Rye Sourdough
Dense, dark rye seasoned with coriander, fenugreek, basil, mint, bay, turmeric and red pepper. Slice it thin and pile it high.
Sourdough Crackers with Sesame & Poppy
Thin, crisp crackers of sourdough, olive oil, sesame and poppy seed. For the cheese board, or straight from the bag.
Cinnamon Raisin Mini Loaf
The classic dough gone sweet: cinnamon and raisins swirled through, brown sugar and butter worked into the folds. Toast it, butter it.
Cheddar Jalapeño Mini Loaf
Sharp cheddar and pickled jalapeños folded through, so the cheese melts into pockets and caramelizes against the crust.
Matcha Mochi Red Bean Cake
Chewy sweet-rice cake with matcha and a seam of red bean paste, baked in a fluted mold. In nearly every drop since the first one.
Matcha Shortbread Cookies
Butter shortbread with matcha, pressed with patterned molds so every cookie carries a design.
Classic Shortbread Cookies
Butter, sugar, vanilla and organic flour, pressed with a pattern. Made for a cup of tea or coffee.
Brownie Cookies
Cocoa-dark, soft, and not too sweet. They also make very good ice-cream sandwiches.
Pumpkin Bread
Real pumpkin, coconut oil and coconut sugar, warmly spiced and topped with pepitas. A little starter keeps the sweetness in check.
Focaccia isn’t in the weekly drop. It turns up in same-day flash sales, usually midweek, with pickup that afternoon. Reminder subscribers hear first.

Grain & Leaf began at a table at the Pacific Northwest Tea Festival in September 2025, with sourdough crackers, shortbread and matcha red bean cakes.
Grain is the bread: sandwich loaves scored with a stalk, olive minis, a spiced rye. Leaf is the tea table: matcha in the mochi cakes and shortbread cookies pressed in fun, seasonal shapes.
I can't say enough how delicious they are. The flavor is complex and rich with just the right amount of tanginess.

The Kalamata mini loaf is a must! Perfect with butter or toasted on its own. Also the brownie cookies are perfection!
Orders go through our Hotplate page. A new drop goes live most weeks on Thursday at 9 AM, and ordering closes Friday at 10 PM or when everything is sold out. You choose a pickup day when you check out.
Pickup is Monday or Wednesday between 2 PM and 7 PM at Grain and Leaf HQ in Issaquah, WA 98029. The exact address is in your order confirmation.

Every so often there is a small same-day sale, usually focaccia on a Wednesday, with pickup that afternoon. They are announced through Hotplate reminders and tend to sell out quickly.

The sourdough is made with organic wheat and bread flour, filtered water, sea salt and a sourdough starter. It is leavened only by the starter, with no commercial yeast. Every item in a drop lists its full ingredients.
Made in a home kitchen that also handles wheat, milk, eggs, sesame, and tree nuts. Items made with milk, like the cheddar jalapeño and cinnamon raisin loaves, say so in the drop. If you have a serious allergy, message us before ordering.
Grain & Leaf is a home bakery operating under Washington Cottage Permit #2190. These are foods that are made in a home kitchen that has not been subject to standard inspection criteria.
Keep it cut side down on a board, or in a paper or cloth bag, and eat it within a few days. For longer, slice and freeze it; toast slices straight from the freezer.
